Outside Sales Representative
Job Description
The Territory Sales Rep is responsible for directly selling new, used, and rental Construction and Forestry Machinery, Compact Construction Equipment, and related products to assigned accounts. This role encompasses the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to quotation and closing, while building and maintaining strong customer relationships focused on long-term, mutual growth.
Track construction bid results to identify opportunities with existing accounts and prospects.
Assess customer needs and recommend equipment configurations suited to technical requirements and applications.
Conduct trade evaluations on new quote opportunities.
Perform price calculations and create customer quotations.
Write bid specifications for government agency purchases.
Deliver product demonstrations to potential buyers, highlighting product features and benefits.
Provide Operation & Maintenance training during new equipment deliveries.
Attend trade shows, conferences, and other industry networking events.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on client details, including decision-makers, purchasing plans, financing preferences, and fleet profiles.
Record customer communications, site visits, and sales opportunities in the CRM system.
Share relevant client insights that may affect company decisions with the appropriate departments.
Support the resolution of outstanding accounts receivable or client issues.
Stay informed about competitor products and report pricing and marketing strategies to management and team.
Submit required sales reports, including activities, opportunities, pending deals, and goal adherence.
Maintain current knowledge of products.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Five years of proven outside sales experience.
Knowledge of construction or industrial equipment operation and applications.
Strong interpersonal, oral communication, and presentation skills.
Professional appearance with excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Strong written communication skills with negotiation and business acumen.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CRM systems.
High energy, self-motivation, and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Ability to operate, demonstrate, and assess equipment, including climbing on and around machinery.
Capability to evaluate equipment for trade-ins.
Drive and cover a designated territory, with driving up to 80% of the day.
Travel by air as required for sales and professional development events.
Complete six to ten effective customer visits per day.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Walk on uneven surfaces and work in construction site environments to meet with clients.
Valid Driver’s License (must meet insurance underwriting requirements).
