Job Description

The Equipment Service Technician is responsible for executing repairs, warranty services, and preventive maintenance on equipment promptly and efficiently, ensuring that all work meets high-quality standards and adheres to safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned service tasks in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the least amount of labor hours are used while maintaining top quality.
  • Accurately complete service orders with essential details, including machine specifications, time and date, technician name(s), failure reports, cause and correction, and oil or supplies used.
  • Inspect equipment as needed for additional repairs or malfunctions, using test drives or troubleshooting methods to assess vehicle operation.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to diagnose equipment malfunctions and obtain prior approval before performing additional repairs.
  • Respond promptly to repair inquiries, ensuring that all maintenance services align with quality and efficiency standards.
  • Dispose of residual or hazardous waste following proper procedures.
  • Safely operate a variety of tools and equipment, including creepers, pressure washers, torque wrenches, hydraulic jacks, diagnostic tools, pneumatic hand tools, and welding equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring the proper care of company tools and assets, in compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve technical skills, attend required classes, shop meetings, and review service bulletins.
  • Conduct test drives and equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and adherence to company standards.
  • Inform management immediately if shop equipment is unsafe or unserviceable.
  • Be available for overtime work as needed, understanding that business demands may require flexibility.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, maintaining excellent customer relations and upholding the company’s reputation.
  • Invest in necessary tools and equipment to perform duties at the expected levels of quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


Skills:
  • Strong written and technical communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Solid math aptitude
  • Effective time management and manual dexterity
  • Ability to stand for long periods

Education/Training:
  • Associate’s Degree or Equivalent

Certifications/Licenses:
  • Deere Level 1, Deere Level 2, Deere Capstone Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and adherence to underwriting requirements
